The Turning Point

If you’ve struggled with weight loss or health issues, you’re not alone. I’ve been there, trying hard to lose weight after I fell sick to Lyme disease (read more on my Lyme journey HERE) I was paralyzed and unable to physically move, eventually after finding the right doctor and treatments I was able to walk again and return to my life. However, sadly I had put on a solid 20 pounds and hated what I saw in the mirror.

I found myself frustrated and exhausted from trying countless diets that promised amazing results but often left me feeling defeated. I was constantly chasing after the next trendy solution, only to realize that they offered little more than temporary fixes. It was disheartening. Then I stumbled upon the concept of gut health, and everything changed. I learned that many of my struggles with weight gain, low energy, and even skin issues were linked to my gut. This realization was a turning point for me. Instead of focusing on what I was eating in a restrictive way, I started to think about how to heal my gut.

Understanding that our gut microbiome, home to trillions of microorganisms, directly impacts our metabolism, mood, and overall health was a revelation. When my gut was out of balance, it affected my ability to lose weight, no matter how hard I tried. This realization shifted my focus from restrictive diets to nurturing my gut health.

So what did I do to lose the weight?

Nearly 40 years old and I was in better shape than in my 20’s, and running circles around my teenage daughters! It was that easy! Fixed my gut, it gave me energy and motivation to get more active and now I am in the best shape of my life.
